Madonna's new look.

I'm getting a lot of traffic to this post from last year about "Madonna's new look." I'm sure it's because people are Googling "Madonna's new look" because she has a new new look. I love the new cut. It's something you could move about wearing in the real world, not like the hairstyle it replaced, the retro Valerie Cherish thing that would require you to have Mickey scampering after you everywhere, touching it up constantly.

As for the new color. Use your judgment. Doing the roots every week could get expensive... and boring.

Apparently, it's just a wig: http://www.perezhilton.com/topics/madonna/it_was_just_a_wig_20060920.php

I was going to say it looks like a wig, but the article details the cut and the cost, etc. Anyway, the top doesn't look like a normal part. It's all thick like a seam.

My favorite Madonna hairstyle was the one she wore for "Papa Don't Preach."

Weeping Jesus! She looks like a common bar fly.

Once a woman gets past about 35 or so, long hair just ages them.

No; the wrong kind of long hair ages them. Look at Lauren Bacall or Helen Mirren. Both of them have had long hair and looked fantastic. And hello, Diana Ross! And Cher... (just kidding on that last one).

But I would contend that there's nothing worse than some severe, helmet-head haircut on a woman to make her look older. Longer hair tends to be softer and I think that helps a woman's features as she gets older. As long as she doesn't have crazy, witch-like strands of gray throughout.

Well, I have no idea what that Madonna article said, because I saw this on the same page:

'Judge told cleaner lover: You're chilli-hot stuff'
An immigration judge has told a court how he started an affair with his Brazilian cleaner who was working in Britain illegally
