How does Christopher retain a spot on Project Runway? He is almost always in the bottom and he makes crap that Sears wouldn't sell.

I must credit The Fair Althouse for bringing this show to my attention a few years ago. I am now seriously hooked.

wv: facal

Q: What's the matter with Christopher's clothes?

A: Facal matter.

Palin just endorsed Hoffman in New York 23. How much campaign dough will Hoffman get from this?

My wife adores that show but I can't stand it.
I wonder if there's anybody else who dislikes it and why.

I was really tired and slept through Grey's Anatomy. Bummer.

Whitehouse escalates war on Fox:

http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/2009/10/escalation_white_house_tries_t.asp

"The White House sent out an alert today to the press pool that "Pay Czar" Kenneth Feinberg would be doing a press availability— a round robin with the major news networks, in which Fox is customarily included. The administration specified that everyone was invited except Fox News, according to Bret Baier on "Special Report" tonight.

The press pool, acting in the interest of its members, admirably stood up to the White House bullying. All the other networks declared that if Fox was not getting an interview, they would not be conducting interviews."

Haunting image.

Autumn on the cusp of winter.

You've outdone yourself, Ann. Very evocative.

@chickenlittle

Exactly and Robin on Top Chef too.

Anyone else think Colicchio appears totally disintrested this season? Oddly given that Las Vegas is chef centric, the show has about as much frisson as a Bisquick pancake.

It's time to bring on the eye candy or tag team snark.

Illinois Bar member Samir Chowhan says his Craigslist ad for a secretary who would also provide sexual favors for him and his office mate -- sometimes together, sometimes separately -- was a joke. But the IARDC is still going after him.

@BJM

Rachel is awakening long dormant and very deep seated feelings of hatred in me. I think the producers are keeping her on to torture us.

On the other hand, I want to bear Jennifer's children, although being male and 53 presents issues here.

This one reminds me of the bat we found hanging on the INSIDE of the shower curtain several years ago.

The little eye peeking out of the hole on the left leaf is a bit creepy too.

I am curling up with thoughts of leaf mold dancing through my head.

While channel surfing I stumbled on Cavuto debating the pay cuts with O'Reilly.

O'Reilly argued that the concept wouldn't spread beyond bailout companies and that he's fine with it. Cavuto believes it will as competing companies will have to follow suit to lower costs, he claimed that some already are doing so.

O'Reilly wasn't convinced.

Cavuto closed with:

"It's a cookbook Bill!!"

Best line of the day

I do not much care for this Dry Leaf Hotel you recommend so I shall stop at the Sere Cactus Motor Club across the street and check out their bar.

Granny Smith apple and blue cheese snack.

Chip, do you have anything planned for holiday cooking? If so, how about a preview?

(Your seared salmon and capers recipe turned out great, BTW).

The logo has been naked for quite a while now.

No cruel neutrality.

Just invites with the spectre of crackling logs in the fireplace in the body.

Dry Leaf Hotel? Wish I could spend the night because it looks like my kind of place, but I'm planning on meeting a friend at the Moss Motel later.

Isn't that always how it goes though. Nothing to do for weeks on end and then two lovely offers for the same night.

BJM said...

Yeah Chip, What John said.

I have a plethora of butternut squash. I prefer savory squash dishes and made a tasty green curry with a couple but now I'm tapped out. Any ideas?

I can't believe it's almost time for Althouse to start posting pictures of dead trees again.

Living in Florida, this is how I mark out the seasons.

I purchased on-line a curry cookbook written by a couple of guys from India. Excellent.

My house smells of toasted cumin seeds, roasted ginger and garlic paste, and tamarind. Mmmm.

kentuckyliz said...

Michael, I read that and thought Titus posted it.

It's pouring rain here today, just as I have to pack out of the hotel. Yuck.

I am presenting a conference session at 9 am, and I would say wish me luck, but I don't need luck. I got skill. :-p

Here's another website for you gardening geeks: The Garden Professors.

Current topics include pesticides, leaving burlap on balled trees, and a scary visit to a Wisconsin nursery.

@KentuckyLiz LOL! Not remotely close.
