At the Green-Gold Café...

... hold on to your last best thoughts.

Hold that thought as all of our green becomes close to worthless when measured in gold. CDs, IRAs and 401Ks will become toy sized as they shrink along with the value of the dollars that they contain. Buying wedding rings will become the major expense for the new gays getting married. Whoever courageously leads the fight to stop Bernanke's scuttling of the dollar should become our next President.

even worse than red white did on blue bluish green white.

We fell asleep at half time and did a "WTF?" when we awoke (not that the direction of the game wasn't obvious at half time).

Yea GB looked good. Clay Matthews was playing out of his damn mind.

But Dallas. Yikes. Wouldn't want to be them.

Next up Purple-White. And that stupid horn.

Don't let them cut your hair, Clay.

Clay interview here. The crowd serenaded him with MVP! MVP! as he came out of the game.

One thing Packers are really good at is finding out what you do bad, and then beat you over the head over and over with it.

Eternal Gold

At start and end plant life is gold,
First pale at last full bodied;
Seeming to yield to ashen cold
New body gold is readied.

I was happy to read CM got a touchdown. Sweet.

Just wait to the New York Giants get a hold of them in the playoffs.
Once again we will expose them as the empty shell of the team that they are.

Did I tell you lately that the Giants are going to win the Super Bowl?

Sorry, we no longer have a quarterback who will hand you the game on a silver platter.

Clay will make Eli cry like a baby.

Trooper, we'll see you before the playoffs. December 26. Lambeau.

OOOOOOOOHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I forgot. I do remember that garage proposed a little wager.

But he already used my "river of piss idea."

But maybe we can come up with something.

I know when New Orleans won last year and I lost to Beth I had to eat a fish taco!

I can't wait till we get to the frozen tundra of the Vince Lombardi rest area.

That's the name of the field right?

Trooper York said...

I mean I heard they changed it from Moe, Larry and Curly Lambeau field?

Trooper York said...

I actually saw a lot of that game. I think you defense is not all it is cracked up to be. And our pss rush should get to you boy pretty easily as we did to Romo.

I lool forward to it. Hee.

Refresh my memory, Trooper. What state do the Giants play in, again?

Very pretty, Madame, but last best thoughts? Do you know something we don't?

Has Meade gotten the order for the big mobilization?

PS tg has more than a valid point. Oil has hit a 2 year high and gold is at 1400; and both the Russkies and the Red Chinese don't like QE at all.

Could it be The Zero is about to be shown who's really boss?

You should get your butt out here and experience the NFL Shrine of football stadiums. I'll get us tickets.

Why they play in a suburb of New York City.

Now I realize that all of the United States is in fact a suburb of NYC....anything that is within twenty miles is considered part of the New York Metropolitan area.

Trooper York said...

I would love to Garage. Maybe when my traveling medicine show hits Milwaukee.

We might be doing trunk shows in varioius cities to sell our stuff.

I will put Wisconsin in the mix.

Is that one of the 57 states?

Very cool. Don't go to Cook Co in Illinois, though. Sales taxes there are ruinous.

Trooper York said...

Is it more than the 8% that Nanny Bloomberg takes in NYC?

MadisonMan said...

It was at 10.25%, but google tells me it dropped to 9.75% this past July.

I don't shop at Ikea any more.

Here is the news of the day (Nov. 5). The peddlers of garbage-backed securities are being held to account:

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Charles Schwab Corp. (SCHW) is suing units of 11 big banks that sold or issued certificates in securitization trusts backed by residential mortgage loans to its bank.

The banks named in the complaint filed on July 15 include BNP Paribas SA , Bank of America Corp. , Citigroup Inc., Credit Suisse Group, Deutsche Bank AG, Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Wells Fargo & Co., UBS AG, HSBC Holdings PLC, Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC, and Morgan Stanley.

In a complaint filed with the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco, Schwab said it paid the defendants $1.38 billion for 37 certificates in 36 securitization trusts backed by residential mortgage loans.

Schwab alleges the defendants made "numerous statements to Schwab about the certificates and the credit quality of the mortgage loans that backed them" and "many of those statements were untrue as to material facts."

The San Francisco discount brokerage said defendants "omitted important information, about such material facts as the loan-to-value ratios of the mortgage loans, the number of borrowers who did not live in the houses that secured their loans and the extent to which the entities that made the loans departed from their own standards in doing so."

The complaint says that because the certificates are "securities" under two California securities acts, Schwab believes it is entitled to rescind the purchase of the certificates or be paid damages for losses on the certificates.

Talk about your cash for clunkers. Fmr Sen. Phil Gramm was on the UBS payroll when last I looked -- I wonder if any of his deregulation chickens will roost on his house.

You have to travel out of state to shop at IKEA? Sort of like buying margarine back in the day, eh?

Presumably there's a legal justification for this decision. But, I think a girl should be allowed to be a cheerleader even if she sits down when it's time to cheer for a (not indicted) boy she said raped her.

Let her sit down, and then she'll get up after the free throw. It's not a big deal.

BTW, the comments suss out more details than are included in the lame article.

You know, Original Mike, you're absolutely right. The Jets and the Giants both play in New Jersey, and both are 6-2. The team that does play in the state of New York, the Bills, are 0-8.

I think it's because of Chris Christie. There's nothing he can't accomplish.

Makes you wonder how the Phillies and the Eagles would do if they could just move to Camden.
