Superb! And oh so civil!

The fit on the right side of that dress, which is otherwise pretty nice, has always bothered me.

Maybe it was a meta4?

You can't stuff the right into an Obama.

Ann Althouse said...

That dress is saying: The right wing is not needed.

Ann Althouse said...

The left will be well supported. The right will be squeezed uncomfortably.

ricpic said...

Creative use of duct tape.

Ann Althouse said...

That dress is not bipartisan.

Superb, Palladian.

Henry said...

Brilliant.

There have been some great entries on the flag project, which is being linked all over the place, but this one is particularly striking.

Michelle is wearing one of her many wigs.

traditionalguy said...

That flag could be a political cartoon which shows the White House as the new dwelling place of Ophra's divination cult couple. We should relabel it our Delphi House.

That dress does not say "I ♥ Commies"

PALLADIAN

BRAVO!!!

Please tell me she is not wearing a blue trash bag.

Palladian and I don't agree on much, but he nailed it there.

Palladian FTW.

AllenS said...

What does FTW stand for? I checked the acronym finder and got a bunch of different answers.

Big Mike said...

Very nice piece of work, and very appropriate.

The Green Bay Packers should suit of Michelle and play her at inside linebacker.

She's got the butt for it.

FTW
For the whales or
For the win.

Excellent, Palladian!

If I had the time or energy I would create a can label with "100% Organic Free Range Gadsden Snake". Of course it would also have to say "No Salt Added", "No Trans Fats" etc.

Clean your feet before you come in.

No it's more like blue TARP.

Are you related to "Original George"?

Tyrone Slothrop said...

Easily the winner, Palladian, well done.

The O needs a haircut since that's the way to get the gray out

Ritmo Re-Animated said...

Don't you love it when an inside joke becomes so convoluted and confined that it becomes turned inside out?

The Crack Emcee said...

Absolute brilliance!

Palladian, I am standing and applauding you. You are the winner. The others are great, but - just "damn".

The Crack Emcee said...

TG,

That flag could be a political cartoon which shows the White House as the new dwelling place of Ophra's divination cult couple.

Exactly.

genius, Palladian.

Ok, so when the first couple appropriates the snippy symbol of self-reliance beloved by the retrogrades, it suddenly becomes an ominous sign. Interesting logic there.

Freeman Hunt said...

Excellent entry.

(And I love that dress on Michelle Obama.)

Revenant said...

Brilliant. :)

I still like the "its ok to treat on me, I have health insurance now" one best, tho.

Will somebody please cuss and spit at Shitmo?

He isn't happy unless somebody is beating on him.

Support Palladian. He has some great work on his website.

Easy there chickelit, ever since Katrina we're hyper sensitive about "blue tarps" in New Orleans..they're still too fresh in our collective memories/nightmares..

I'm Full of Soup said...

Obviously Palladian is still an uncivil hater. Guess he did not get the memo.

virgil xenophon said...

I'm a great fan of Palladian, and it's inspired stuff and all, but given the nature of the occupants of the WH there IS another take on that photo--at least from my perspective.
Remember, were both talking about a FLAG here after-all--one of our nation's earliest ones. And flags should NEVER be dishonored by allowing them to EVER touch the ground--let alone be trampled upon! And, to add insult to injury, the pair doing the trampling are not exactly known to be proud of their own country. (until they get finished with re-molding it, that is) All in all, it right upfront at first blush leaves a bad taste in this old soldiers mouth/feeling in gut--no matter my intellectual understanding of what Palladian was trying to (did) accomplish.

Fen said...

Nicely done Palladian.

Is the dress made from plastic?

virgil xenophon said...

PS: To further make my point, Chicagoland readers should remember the stink raised a few years back when, at some art gallery/museum (can't remember which, but a significant one) A portrait of Chicago's black Mayor Harold Washington was hung with a large American flag painted on the floor just in front so that the viewer had to stand/walk on the American flag in order to view/contemplate the painting. It caused a HUGE uproar as being TOTALLY and INTENTIONALLY disrespectful of the national symbol and of, by implication, America itself.

Obama's pal standing on American flag.

virgil xenophon said...

Further (warming to the subject) the motto of the flag is: "Don't Tread on Me!" is it not? Yet that is EXACTLY what Obama and Michelle are doing--as if in reproof of the warning. One COULD further analogize by saying that photo represented Obama & Michelle either consciously or carelessly, callously trampling on the symbolic representation of the very spirit/concept of independence from big government that this nation was founded upon.

(And I love that dress on Michelle Obama.)

I love it except for the squish at the top.

Note that she didn't feel she needed to "nod" to Mexico's culture at that State Dinner. We are familiar with Mexico. She didn't assume they will be wowed by patronizing "nods".

Best one ever.

yeah, ditto, she looks hot. That dress is awesome.

Excellent, Palladian.

Come on AJ, Bill Ayers was just some guy with a living room. Put a fork in it, dig? Stop being a Dohrn in POTUS's side.

David said...

This is the best by far. All others bow down.

I'm not sure Palladian has that capitalist urge. If you do, good fella, this could find a nice market. Be sure to copyright it.

Michelle looks great in that dress, too, even though it's a lefty dress.

Best submission yet.

(Didn't like the dress, I thought that dress was a 'miss'. Too shiny and ill fitting)

coketown said...

Genius!

And I agree about the dress. Anyone missing a tarp? Or is that subliminal messaging? "The President and TARP: Still going strong."

Ritmo Re-Animated said...

Does this mean you finally got the lame exercise out of your system? Or shall we delve even deeper into the roots of your violent urges and apply its thematic expression even more creatively and nonsensically?

Just wondering.

Palladian wins. That's pretty fucking good and funny and poignant.

I just love it when Ritmo pulls out his thesaurus. Makes him even more ridiculous.

Dude, lighten up.

That was one of the lamest insults you've come up with, Shitmo.

Reads like an entry in a bad writing contest for academics. I expect a higher level of ranting and raving from you.

Fen said...

I guess we should shut up now, rather than risk radicalizing Ritmo further.

Sidebets that Ritmo will be the next Jared Loughner or Eric Fuller?

Ritmo Re-Animated said...

The fact that you would say such a thing right after you say "Dude, lighten up" makes me question the sincerity of your interest in others.

Oh well, it's good to know you don't have to imagine (or pretend) us watching "West Wing" together in order to be interested in me and my well-being, Fen.

Ritmo Re-Animated said...

Shorter ST:

"Academic"="Gay/Feminazi/liberal/radicalMuslimTerrrrrrist agitator"

Who would have thunk that he sees ranting and raving as an artform?

Shanna said...

Please tell me she is not wearing a blue trash bag.

That was my thought. The dress is actually really pretty, except the fabric looks terrible. Is it just the picture? Ugh.

Also, that picture is awesome.

The Musket said...

Yep -- the president, his wife and the rest of the crazy left have stepped on us - and we bit them. Let's hope our venom is enough to make their policies die.

Trooper York said...

Actually the dress that Michelle is wearing is on trend for the current season. Blue is in and the one shoulder look is all the rage. I would recommend against it as anything that emphasizes her shoulders is a bad thing for her. On the other hand her arms are among her best features and should be showcased. Therefore she should go sleeveless but with a bodice with a high neckline.

And of course the President is never believable without his sajjāda under his arm.

Me thinks she's about 1...3 pounds away from the "you're too fat to wear...that". Fitting (so to speak) that the ingestion control-freak can't seem to get her own act together.

Ambrose said...

Michelle. Someone on the right loves you.

JAL said...

Well Trooper, since we're into dress facshions / designs -- how about the off the Left shoulder Chinese red dress? The way it was attached in the back really, really made it look like it was not meant to be falling off the left shoulder. (Oh here, do this, it will look so ... now!")

I wanted to reach through the screen and push it back up and say "I don't care WHAT they tell you... it looks like a mistake! Look classy, not like a last minute fashion after thought wanna be."

JAL said...

Besides -- the Blue dress was wrong on the Right, and the Red dress was wrong on the Left.

What could it mean?

Fen said...

Ritmo: Oh well, it's good to know you don't have to imagine (or pretend) us watching "West Wing" together in order to be interested in me and my well-being, Fen.

Oh thats right! I had almost forgotten. You were the Libtard that was spouting "Post hoc, ergo propter hoc" right after a West Wing episode of that title played on the tele that morning.

And then there was your admission that you only troll here to spike threads critical of Democrats. What was it again, Libtard? Don't make me go dig it up - I'll include it in every response to you for the next month.

I don't think that Michelle Obama could put together 3 sentences on any issue of substance that I would agree with. I find her comments about America being "mean" to be appalling, especially as she rose from very modest origins to the Ivy League and then the White House.

Nevertheless, the First Lady is a good looking woman and I like the dress. I think it looks great.

But then I am just a regular guy. What do I know?
