"2 dots of ink from a Belgian cartoonist’s pen can express more wit and artistry..."

STOP! You should not inform people about this other imposter Tintin. The real Tintin is Spielberg's. It always has been. There is no Belgian version; and if there is mention of one, it is a fake.

Keep linking to this shit and you can expect to get sued for copyright infringement. Or maybe Spielberg will ask the U.S. Regime to take you out in a drone attack, since you are clearly a threat to god-given American commercial interests.

Never a huge fan of Spielberg (the blood fetish and the "make the girls squeal with something gross" fetish get old fast), I can only imagine what he does with it.

Some things really are better left alone.

From the review:

...even if Jamie Bell wasn't so monotonously earnest as Tintin, he'd still look about as conscious as a bollard with a quiff.

A bollard with a quiff. Haven't the foggiest what that translates to in American-English. Not particularly curious to find out either. But I am encouraged that all the technological advances in the world still haven't succeeded in erasing our quirky and endearing differences.

A bollard is a post used to prevent traffic from entering someplace like a bike path and a quiff is Tintin's hairstyle.

My goof. I thought it was Brit slang for sure. Thanks, R.L.

I could never understand the passion some had for the Tintin books. Asterix the Gaul -- now there was a comic hero well worth reading. None of this earnest cub reporter stuff -- just great word play, clever characters, and the perennial Gaulish underdogs trouncing their Roman occupiers, once again.

Pah! Gallia pacata est. Or erat, I suppose, the Gallic provinces having fallen into grievous disorders since the collapse of imperial authority.

I'd be happy to be proved wrong, but I think Peter Jackson's best work was & will always be LotR.

When I saw the abortion that was his re-make of King Kong, I knew that this was a man who would never, ever, again be convinced to properly edit his films. He was just lucky that LotR demanded a sprawling canvas, because it's the only way he knows how to paint.

My favorite Peter Jackson movie is "Heavenly Creatures."

He's dead on that the eyes are just not well done in the linked-to clip. Rather reminds me of Thunderbirds from back in the 60s.

One of Liszt's contemporary partisans commented publicly to the effect that a cymbal clash by Liszt carried more artistic content than a symphony by Brahms.

Moral: everything is incomparable.

Never was a big fan of Tintin. On the other hand there are a lot of good comics and there are not a lot of watchable hybrid animation movies. The trailer looks just awful.
