"My entire life had been waiting for this moment where I would get to interact — I'm serious! — with a sloth."

AND: Kristin explains the intensity of her emotions:

It's about baby sloths.

Her mother needed to teach her better about men she would meet.

I thought the clip with Ellen was kind of sweet, but the video taken by the boyfriend was kind of weird. She seems unstable. Emotional is fine, unstable - yikes.

I've seen a few clips of the Ellen show. She does a pretty good job.q

She needs to stop hanging with Ellen and find a real boyfriend.

Had to reread that.

I was going in a whole nother direction.

What is it about these Hollywood people that they are so batshit crazy?

That was pretty damned funny. They way she perked up when she heard the sloth was coming to the party was priceless.

Patrick,

the video taken by the boyfriend was kind of weird.

It is a spoof of a popular YouTube video about a little girl being told she's going to Disneyland.

(skip to the 2 minute mark)

If the snakes have slithered off into hiding, can we comment on the Padagonian Giant Sloths?

Those giant sloths were big ice age mammals. So they may be making a come back soon.

The were 12 feet tall and were carnivores the better to eat the armadillos by turning them over and stabbing them in the belly with their claws.

So baby sloths would be my favorites , because the don't eat very much.

Sloths are perfect creatures. So docile and helpless, but with faces full of wisdom. I love them. I'm glad God waited for the sloths to board the ark before flooding the earth. "Is everyone on board?" "Not quite. Still waaaaiting for the sloths."

Career-wise, she's done more with this whole sloth thing than with "When In Rome."

A series of Alfa Romeo commercials from c. 2006 featured a sloth:

There also was a sloth video that seems to have been intended to go viral:

Thanks, Revenant. The joke is on me (and others, I presume). Well played.

One of my daughters is a little like this lady, but not so extreme. And for what it's worth, baby sloths are really cute. Baby anteaters, too. A quick Youtube search will put you onto either one.

I stopped a bike commute for a dead possum that appeared to have a baby clinging to it.

A woman with a car stopped, was taken with its cuteness. I gave her directions for feeding baby possums (you need whole milk, egg yolk and eyedropper) and they went on their way. I suppose it's a pet possum now, and much uglier.

Bell is a fine little actress. (Really little - 5'0").
Some good movies and TV shows (Heroes, Veronica Mars).
This was a well done bit of spoofery Bell and her BF pulled off, but apparantly she is a real animal lover, does animal charity, is a Vegan.

Don't know if she is in PETA territory, but she is a potential candidate..

Search for reefer madness for the other side of KB.

I have a friend, who will eventually go into seizures if she gets too emotional and can't control it. Like whenever she starts to laugh hard. She loves to laugh but hates the seizures.

And Kristen Bell is a great person. I am sure my politics are abhorrent to her lol. Follow her on twitter and she has a unique creative view of not just acting but of life.

She's 31 years old?
She sounded like Suzie Sorority.

In this clip, Bell reminds me of the character Charlize Theron played in Arrested Development. Rita was delightful in her uninhibited displays of enthusiasm for odd and simple things. It wasn't until the end of her character's run that it was revealed that Rita was mentally challenged.

Funny, in the movies, she had no trouble ridiculing this sloth.

Maybe because he was an adult sloth?

traditionalguy said...

Kristen is 110% female. What man could not love her?

I would feel the same way about receiving Kristen as she feels about receiving her sloth.

DADvocate said...

Ellen played her with a quip I would have loved to make in the same situation. Funny.

KT said...

That wasn't a spoof. Don't be ridiculous. If you follow Kristen Bell you know she is smart as a whip but also quirky and sweet. If they had intended to do a spoof, she and Dax would've done a more spot on job. Also, her reaction when Ellen pretends to bring out a sloth is obviously unscripted. And those of you saying she seemed like a sorority girl or MRF are similarly cranky assholes.

Like all things Kristen Bell, I have decided to find the video adorable. Odd, but adorable.

(Note to potential suitors: do not try this at home, unless you have banked significant goodwill with BJK based upon TV work in programs like Veronica Mars and/or Party Down.)

In general, she's just a great talk show guest because she can wander into topics like this one. YouTube up a few clips from Craig Ferguson's show if you don't believe me.

Some good movies and TV shows (Heroes, Veronica Mars).

She’s also done guest appearances on “Deadwood” and “The Shield” (two of my favorite shows). I haven’t watched any of “The House of Lies” – Showtime, much like HBO, has made some great one-hour dramas but I’ve generally not cared for their half-hour comedies.

The sloth is my totem animal, and I'm certain that in a past, more evolved life I was a sloth. It's sad how few women can see the lovable qualities of a sloth, when they are present in human form. It's even sadder how few women look like Kirsten Bell. I think if my ex wife looked like Kirsten Bell I could have kept the marriage together....I wonder how the dogs interact with the sloth. If the puppies should happen to tear apart the baby sloth, I fear Kirsten Bell would overreact.

Charming woman.

I'd never heard of her before.

She is so hawt. The fact that she is a mildly emotional basket case is completely wiped clean from my mind because she is so hawt.
