I was looking for news of the bed of hot coal walkers we had fun with and how they might be "getting over it"... when Goggle gave me this..

Bed warmer... The term is also commonly used in the United Kingdom and Australia for a temporary sexual partner, or a relationship of necessity.
This is not to be confused with Shunamitism, the practice of sharing a bed, but not necessarily engaging in sexual relations, with a young maiden, in hope that the shared warmth and moisture would delay aging.

The American girl who won tonight looked like a muscular pixie. She was quite radiant and joyous when she found out she won, but she seemed to be having a good time throughout the competition...... The Russian girl who lost looked like the model for a Degas figure. She looked intense and fragile. Her expressive face looked particularly tragic when she discovered that she was only the second best gymnast in the world. ...Both girls were very appealing. Cinderella triumphed over Snow White.

When its Mary Lou Retton competing?

Does anybody know?

That's happened to me too before... alas (or more accurately "merde!")... and yes, I know, one just has to get over it.

On second thought, for Lem, "merde" isn't accurate at all.

Better put: "¡Coño, que mierda!"

Keep in mind that comment box has a buffer of only so many characters.

If a comment's really long (as in off the page long), you're probably going to have to break it in two.

Imagine you are working at a job you don't really like, not making much money. You're going to work, you know it's going to be busy, but all you really want is to do your job, try to put away a little money, and go to school, or do what you can to improve your prospects.

Then imagine that some bozo takes it upon himself to berate you for working there. Not mean, exactly, but oh so pointless and relentless. Full of self righteous indignation, just won't let up. Making a long busy day even longer. Creep even has a video going.

How many would handle it as well as this woman?

I love his need, at the end to insist that he's not gay. The guy uploaded it himself apparently. I think it shows something completely different than what he thought it would show.

@Patrick
The doofus got fired for doing that.. He was CFO of a medical product manufacturer.

That young woman handled herself remarkably. She needs to be promoted. I want to show it to our staff to help them know how to handle abusive customers.

Patrick said...

Yeah, Pogo, after I posted, I saw that he got fired. Seems like a guy who would be surprised that anyone could find fault with what he did.

KCFleming said...

Makes you want to punch him in the nose.

That young lady was pretty amazing, in contrast; professional every step of the way.

Patrick said...

Agreed. that much grace, especially in a not very fun job, is a rare thing indeed.

"art deco?"

More like its close predecessor Art Moderne.

Lem, I got you post out of the spam filter.

Putting multiple links tends to cause that.

I avoid long comments....cuz nobody reads them, and you're not that interesting.

Leave the long comments for the hostess.

I was really shocked last night to see video of Harry Reid repeating his accusations about Romney not paying taxes on the Senate floor.
His making such accusations "out of doors" is bad enough, but to demean the U.S. Senate by abusing his office as Majority Leader in such a fashion is really beyond the pale.

There is also this; there are 3 possible sources for informstion about Romney's tax returns: Romney himself, his tax preparer, and the IRS.

I do not know, but I would think there are rules against corporate employees preparing the executives' personal returns. That just seems instinctively wrong, besides I do not think any executive in his right mind would want that information floating around in the corporation, which it inevitably would.

So I really would like to know just where Harry Reid got his information!

The press should demand to know who is un-named source is, and follow up.

But since it won't, the only reasonable response is to call out our hurler-of-wild-acusations as Harry "tailgunner Joe" Reid.

Acusationso of McCarthyism are often false, but in this case it seems a good fit.

Facebook is mostly an intellectual wasteland, but there are a few people in my feed who consistently post interesting things.

JAC is, by a wide margin, the best Facebook poster. I haven't posted that here before because it seems weird to mention it on his mother's website, but there it is; it's true. I have a lot of bloggers, academics, and media people in my feed, and none of them post as consistently interesting things with well selected pull quotes as JAC. There should be a poll somewhere for best Facebook feed, and he should win it.
