“Why does Ann Coulter call Todd Akin ‘a selfish swine?’”

Asked Lawrence O’Donnell (who, strangely, looks almost exactly like Todd Akin).
“Because Todd Akin’s bat-crap crazy ideas on rape are going to make it so much harder for [R]epublicans to win control of the Senate. Right now, Democrats hold 51 Senate seats, Republicans 47, independents 2. Republicans would need to pick up four seats to gain control of the Senate. They would need only three seats if Mitt Romney actually won the election, because then the vice president, Paul Ryan, would be able to cast a tie-breaking votes.”

But according to Coulter, O’Donnell['s] failure to invite her to appear on his show makes him “a complete pussy”....
The link goes to The Daily Caller (which badly needs proofreading — I had to fix 2 things in this short cut-and-paste). The main reason I'm linking to this item is that the picture of O'Donnell looks so much like Akin.

I looked for a picture of Akin to make my point and got distracted by — speaking of "a complete pussy" — this.

ADDED: Selfish swine or kind toad?

As usual Coulter is just trying to keep the conversation civil as she would never sink to the level of exaggerated personal attacks.

Why does she call him that?

I suppose "because he is" isn't an acceptable answer?

It must be tough for some people to figure out who is worse, Coulter or Akin.

Yes, MSNBC (O'Donnels' network) wished Dick Cheyney dead, and called Laura Ingraham a slut, but Ann apparently doesn't pass the civility test.

As usual, O'Donnell is just trying to keep the conversation civil as he would never sink to the level of exaggerated personal attacks.

And, as usual, roesch/voltaire is just trying to keep the conversation off track as he would never sink to the level of exaggerated ideological attacks.

He means because women are hot button and stupid voters and they have the vote, so you have to cater to feminine moods.

It's like trying to get laid.

Coulter specializes in entertaining insult. It's an art form.

Curiously, she has no sense of humor and looks like a raccoon.

Theres a blog theme emerging today... something akin to Obamas Greek columns... I cant quit put my finger on it ;)

Akin's running dead even with McCaskill after all the brouhaha. Missourians are 70/30 against Obamacare and they know how McCaskill voted. In the end that'll outweigh Akin's gaffe.

I wonder if the "magic uterus" will use it's unique ability to dispose of the offending intruder, achin' I mean Akin?

I detest Laurence O'Donnell, especially in his pissed-off mode, which is the distillation of self-righteous progressive liberalism.

Such touching concern for civility from the person who dropped this nugget in the Twisted Sister thread:

Don't mistake me, I clearly see that Ryan has a whole lotta "rage" in him: A rage against women, a rage against immigrants, a rage against workers, a rage against gays, a rage against the poor, a rage against the environment. Basically the only thing he's not raging against is the privileged elite he's groveling in front of for campaign contributions.

You put an extra helping of bullshit in "civility bullshit."

The Coulter column explains that the bottom line is all about the SCOTUS appointments which Akin is apparently willing to turn over to the Abortion-o-crats by using his junk science argument.

He can't be that dumb...well maybe that makes him Senate qualified in Missouri.

IMO he is a redneck version of Michelle Bachmann who willingly affirms any idiot faux science theory like it is secret knowledge that he proudly knows.

Swine is too nice a word for these types.

Nope. According to CAC at Ace of Spades, Rasmussen has a poll this morning showing McCaskill up 10 pts over Akin, 48% to 38%.

yashu said...

PS The PPP poll that showed them even (Akin +1) oversampled Republicans by a ridiculous amount (+9). IMO that poll was intended to be disinformation, to keep Akin in past the deadline.

As Rasmussen (much more reliably) shows, at this point all indications are that McCaskill would beat Akin.

Ryan has been criticized for supporting a bill that contained the words “forcible rape,” a term many on the left say is redundant at best and indicative of a reliance on junk pseudo-science at worst.

Um, The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Uniform Crime Report currently only includes "forcible rape" as a definition.

These people really are stupid beyond belief.

@Lynch

Coulter has no sense of humor about herself. The freak parade is other people.

I will confess I find this forum rather interesting in terms of the topics the host presents for discussion, however it is depressing to view the lack of intellectual honesty among the liberal/left commentariat.

Ms. Coulter plays the same game that the Left's professional pit-bulls (Carville, Begala, Beckel, O'Donnell, Matthews) do -- throw grenades, filibuster, talk over, refuse the other side the last word. She's cracked the cable shout-fest code -- challenge the interviewers' slanted questions, call out the other guests' fabrications and non-sequiturs pass *as they are uttered*, "stay on offense" as someone said above.

It's tedious and unpleasant to watch, but then so is going under the house to trap varmints. That's why one needs a terrier like Anne Coulter (or Laura Ingraham or Liz Cheney) vs. a poodle like Tucker Carlson.
