"6 Inexplicably Hostile Interviews With Famous Musicians."

Amusing... and I'm trying to make it up to Cracked for not linking them in this post.

Some babies cry out when they are born.

Some people can’t handle discoveries of the personal kind.

I like the no-tag tag. Its like the new pope.

Oof. That Dylan one is brutal. He sounds like Larry David after a couple bowls of skunk weed.

When I was a kid there was the Beatles v. The Monkees divide.

Also the Mad Magazine v. Cracked Magazine divide, which came a little later. I think Cracked had an Alfred E. Newman ripoff named Sylvester. Ah, I was right. Link.

I'm going to guess there's a The Simpsons v. Family Guy divide out there, somewhere.

Vanilla, for example, was discovering that he was more of a biproduct of a place and time than anything his talents might have offered.

All that adulation was an exchange with the substance and the shelf life of his pop songs.

A kind of accidental fraud... a bank rober.

The Sigur Ros interview is the apotheosis of bad interviews. No listener can endure it. I don't know how the interviewer was able to. If that happened to me when giving a business interview, I would have stood up, said good bye, and held the door open with one hand, with the thumb of the other hand cocked over my shoulder pointing the way out.

Did Frank Zappa ever give a non-hostile interview? I guess if he was hostile to everyone it was easy for the journalist to not take it personally.

What did Zappa say about rock journalism (this is from memory, so may not be accurate in detail)? "....written by people who can't write for people who can't read"?

There was the Madonna and David Letterman interview. "Don't fuck with me, Dave."

Famous, you say? Dylan and Bieber, OK; don't know those others.

I believe the Zappa quote is "Rock journalism is people who can't write interviewing people who can't talk for people who can't read."

Feisty Bob Dylan is my favorite. He would not surrender to the Brit's narrative about him.

As good as Enrico Caruso? I guess Dylan never listened to his own records.

I love Cracked. It's one of the few sites I visit every day. The funny girls are cute.

Dylan comparing himself to Caruso was his way of saying I sound like crap and I don't care. He was bragging that his singing is bad, yet he still manages to entertain and sell out venues and lots of vinyl.

His vanity showed most when he compared himself with the Beatles. His failure to not be the top pop singer while wanting top pop singer treatment and not accepting the pop label touched a nerve and it likely set off his frustration against the square reporter. Get that Englishman a tooth brush, stat.

A lot of disrespect for interviewers from all, but only Dylan actually embarrassed himself with over the top self-inflation. All the rest at least hinted at some humility or self-deprecation.

Dylan's the one with the cred bagoh20

He called it then, history backed him up and yea he was bing facetious on the Caruso reference.

But I'm an unabashed fan so what do I know.
