Cameroonian singer Dencia argues that her promotion of a product called Whitenicious...

... has nothing to do with disparaging dark skin. It's about dealing with what she calls ''hyper-pigmentation."

I am amused out the outrage. How dare someone sell a product that someone else wants buy.Perhaps I missed where a government is forcing people to use the product--at least it would be worthy of outrage.

I know that in the past, blacks in America categorized, labeled and otherwise discriminated against one another based on the shade of their skin color and texture of their hair.

If you're white, you're alright.
If you're black, get back.
If you're brown, stick around.
If you're yellow, you're mellow.
If you're red, you're already dead

If you're Black - get back!
If you're white - you alright

If you're Black - get back!
If you're white - you alright
If you're Brown - stick around
If you're Yellow - you must one mellow fellow!
I don't want nuthin' black - but a Cadillac.

This is the one that I most often heard while growing up. African-American popular expressions of color. If you're Black - get back! Stratification circa 1940

pigmentation appropriation! Where's all the white outrage over the use of WHITEFACE! I'm micro offended...NOT.

Where does tanned skin fit in the racial spectrum? A lot of people are destined to be confused.

I wonder if this racial confusion explains the uncivilized, even murderous treatment of black albinos.

Blonde hair works on most pretty girls. Skin pigmentation is more for status than sex appeal. Tits trump skin color. White girls with delicate, porcelain complexions are attractive but not necessarily sexy. Black girls with the best asses have the best asses. But great asses like porcelain complexions bloom and fade in a moment.

Of course, there is more than one way to skin a snake.

Interesting.....I can only assume that Michael Jackson suffered hypo-pigmentation.

Why does Michelle Obama have such straight hair?....and how long does it take her to achieve that look? Her kids have straight hair too.

Whazzup wit dat?

What happened to the Afro?

I see that we have black women with blonde hair.
What happened to "I'm black, and I'm proud"??

Well there's always the "brown paper bag" skin-color guideline for eliminating "black" blacks, as well as the guideline about the ability to pass one's hair thru the hair-comb without the peppercorn stuff getting tangled.

Just recently, at a wedding of a wealthy black businessman with strong ties to the ruling African Nationalists, I was surprised to hear the traditional African wedding song, “She’s as beautiful as a white/light girl.” Particularly as there’s a more PC version which compares the beauty of the bride to that of a star.

"Why does Michelle Obama have such straight hair?"

Because she - like 90 percent of African Americans - is also a European American. Naturally straight hair is not uncommon in African Americans, although a large number use hair relaxers. The claim used to be that the naturally straight hair would have come from a "Native American" ancestor (paging Elizabeth Warren). But the fact is, it most likely came from a white ancestor.

Lefties are so obsessed with race that they see race in everything. There is a biological explanation why women prefer lighter skin which has nothing to do with racism or the new left invention called "white privilege". It seems that one of the normal female characteristics which men find attractive is light skin while women prefer men with darker skin. There is even a possible biological explanation for this since the lighter skin permits women to produce more vitamin D which is needed to absorb the calcium needed during pregnancy. There is a tradeoff since lighter skin vulnerable to degradation of folate during sun exposure.

Funny how tanning booths and spray-on tans are never "disparaging of white skin". Mainly because they are not. And also, because white people are not so hung up on skin color politics.

The Skin Color Policing of that artist from that interviewer is really quite racist and controlling.

Mad,

Michael Jackson displayed almost all the signs of being sexually abused as a child. Poor guy...Body dysmorphia is a terrible thing.

No need to be vicious.

Whitenicious is not pernicious.
