Close Hillary advisers met in secret with NYT folk to complain about how unfair the Times has been to Hillary.

"Clinton aides reportedly griped... that Clinton has left public office and should not be subjected to harsh scrutiny.... even as the former secretary of State continues her string of high-profile and highly lucrative speaking appearances and prepares to launch a cross-country book tour next week to promote her new memoir...."

Aw. Let's empathize with Hillary. It's not easy....

She is such a whiner.

Why shouldn't she be subject to harsh scrutiny? Because she is a woman?

She wants to be president, she better get a helmet and some rhino hide and get ready for the Thunderdome.

It's just UNCONSCIONABLE that she should be subjected to investigation and vetting!

Just think: only 10 more years of this.

So what are her greatest achievements in the last 30 years of her so-called public service? [and please don't include getting elected as an achievement]:

Crickets Crickets

I agree that The Times should give brain injury victims kindness during the last dim fading light of their lives. Hillary's treatment should at least be equal to Gabrielle Giffords'.

I get why they're doing this--she needs 2016 to be a coronation, not a contest, as she can't win an actual contest (see, 2008, compared with 2000 and 2006 Senate races). And what better way to screw up a coronation than to have media outlets that are not in line?

What's stupid is that they would think for a minute that this sort of thing wouldn't leak, and make her look like a whiner trying to get special consideration from a mainstream media outlet that is already taking flak for being too much in the tank for the Clintons. Which implies to me that they are not much better at this than they were in 2008.

You know what's funny? Some fat stupid fuck in Wisconsin, some sad union hack who will never accomplish anything great or outstanding thinks this is a great thing for America.

ROTFLMAO

I'm sorry, but on what planet is it considered acceptable political behavior to go to the press & whine?

If a politician has a case to make, get on the talk shows, write editorials, give speeches & MAKE YOUR CASE!

There were many aspects of the Bush administration's policies I liked & many I didn't. But, good Lord in Heaven, did they just suuuuck at defending their policies to the electorate, especially considering they had a hostile press to overcome.

1. Hillary Clinton complains to the New York Times of unfair treatment.

2. Scott Walker complains to the New York Times of unfair treatment.

How different is their reception at the Times likely to be?

Hard Choices sounds like the title for a diet book. Maybe Hillary should help the First Lady with the childhood obesity and school lunch stuff. She can set the Reset button on the good pyramid.

Think of a conservative saying the same words and they would also be true.

Now her ghost writer is out there looking silly.

That's if you believe the Free Beacon does have sources inside the NYT that are privy to high level private conversations.

If she can't take the heat she should get out of the kitchen!

Oh. Never mind.

More like 20, or more; we'll be reading these stories as long as Hillary is alive, whether she becomes president or not.

If this is about garage you are wrong. He isn't in a union.

It's very important that journalists not be too hard on the precious and it's also important when in the White House that no staffers make eye contact with Hillary at anytime.

Nope.

Nothing wrong with all that.

Clearly not a sign of any psychological issues.

You sure? I thought somewhere back he mentioned being a public sector employee and public sector union member.

Oh but let's empathize and rally with Republicans whenever they get dumped on by the NYT and the mainstream media. Let's bitch and crow about it day and night. Let's pay Sarah Palin a bunch of money to come and say a folksy pout about it.

If there were a REAL newspaperman still working at the NY Times he would have said "thanks for your input, but you don't tell my people what to write," and thrown them out on their ears.

I love that final throw away sentence:

"The Times, which tossed overboard its first female editor last month, is owned by the Sulzberger family, who some have accused of sexism, and by the Mexican oligarch Carlos Slim."

Negative. Never been a member of any union.

You remember what happened to Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol? I'd love for Hillary, and Barack, and Harry, and Nancy, and all the rest of them to be transported for just one day to a world ("You're entering the Twilight Zone") where the mainstream media treated Democrats and liberals as harshly as the real world mainstream media treat Republicans and conservatives. I think it would be good for them. It would make them tougher, it would make them more careful, it would force them to think before (say) blowing off a question about why our personnel were killed in Benghazi.

Gee that's sad. They wouldn't have you ?

After that fuck-up obama leaves office with his tail between his legs, I'd be surprised if the american people are hungry to give the job to another protected minority class. Other than screwing Bill Clinton, what has Hillary ever done that was notable?

Scott said...

What's sad and pathetic is not that Hillary's soldiers are bitching to the NYT. It's that the NYT is actually having the meeting. If they had any integrity, they would be telling Hillary to pound sand. The eagerness of the northeastern news media to be co-opted by their sources is revolting. George Stephanopoulous should not be delivering "news" on GMA, he should be selling ladies shoes at a Nordstrom's in Towson Maryland.

I've belonged to two unions relating to the newspaper industry (Newspaper Guild Local 2 and a local of the old Graphic Arts International in Michigan) and in my opinion they are pretty worthless.
