"I have never loved being a part of something as much as I loved being a student-athlete at the greatest university in the world."

It is interesting how 18 year-olds bond to their group. I was a faculty member for 37 years and did not bond to my school that way. What happens to the brain between 18 and 30?

I was on various Oberlin varsity teams and didn't give a shit.

It was fun watching Frank this year as he passed on the pro's and played college basketball for the sheer joy of the game. Unlike many others, Frank understood how precious and fleeting the college experience (on court and off) can be.

The Wisconsin basketball team had a special bond over the past two years. Frank saw that sometimes the experience trumps the money. He was wise to return for his senior year of college ball.

Kaminsky is a very good player. I hope he gets a good NBA team.

Thanks for the ride, Frank!

Correction. The greatest university in the world is either Creighton or Santa Clara. And Carleton College leads the collegiate division.

It's safe to say that the fundraisers at the UW Foundation know a soft touch when they see one.

I went to a small liberal arts school after high school. One time, there was a sign near the dining hall that said there was to be a basketball pep rally. "We have a basketball team?" So some of us went to the rally, and we appeared to be the only students there without a connection to the athletics department, and we felt guilty on behalf of the community for not caring more about basketball.
