"I get stomachaches from fear of what is going to happen — not just here but in the whole of Germany."

Said Dirk Hammer, a Sumte resident, quoted in a NYT article, "German Village of 102 Braces for 750 Asylum Seekers."

[He] said that he felt sympathy for the refugees, but that he feared the sheer number of people dumped with little warning in places like this could offer “an ideal platform for the far right.”.
Also quoted in the article is Holger Niemann, "32, an admirer of Hitler and the lone neo-Nazi on the elected district council": “It is bad for the people, but politically it is good for me.”

Well that racial purity thing didn't work out for the Germans. This is a fresh new approach to Armageddon.

I read the. article. The Times reporter takes the trouble to find the one neo Nazi in the vicinity. I wonder if would take the same amount of trouble to find the one (ha!) Islamic fundamentalist among the refugees.

Stomachaches, eh? Pretty soon, that will be the least of his concerns.

For a little while, Progs will be able to prattle on about all the "far right" resistance to the invasion of their countries.

But then the existential choice has to be faced. Bavaria is edging closer already.

"Far-Right" these days essentially means "nationalist." Which in turn just means that you want your country to be a country and not a fragment of EUTopia. And that you'd like your population to be relatively stable, not massively overrun by migrants.

Seriously. The Lega Nord, the Front National, Fidesz, Alliance for Austria's Future ... We can leave Golden Dawn out of this, as it's not in the same league.

The anti-native policies of the left's social establishment will not end well for people in Europe, or anywhere else where they have precipitously provoked conflicts and started wars that displace people and leave behind a wasteland. Premature evacuation was the beginning, not the end of this global humanitarian disaster.

My friend in Germany said he woke-up to the sound of leaf blowers one morning. He thought maybe his wife got tired of waiting for him to rake the leaves and take them to the city compost.

He looked outside and there was four men doing his big yard! It was cold too!

Turns out the city had a bunch of Arabs and they were all bored and asked to do anything to get outside and work. So they suggested they clean up all the leaves. Boom!

My friend said he found himself smiling because the migrants were so happy to be doing something that was worthwhile. So, he's asked the city if he should buy them a case of beer, or whether they don't drink alcohol, buy them something they need.

The Germans have a misplaced reputation for intelligence. First they get rid of their Jews. Now in their infinitely foolishness they have instituted a Muslim Retirement Plan.
Yes Hans, Mohamed is sure going to work his butt off to pay for your retirement. Yes you keep on believing that instead of your lying eyes.

On the other hand Dietrich might get in touch with his inner Nazi which for many Germans isn't that difficult to get in touch with and things might get a bit too retro.
As noted above by Gahrie for the few Jews in Germany now is a good time to think about getting out of Dodge. Indeed for all of the remaining Jews in Europe.

Funny story, Islam has invaded France in a big way. The culture of France from before 50 years ago is gone forever, and it might be a good thing, since everyone hated those war-starting bastards anyway.

There are all sorts of stable social systems.

Stable means that if you perturb it a little, it goes back to the way it was.

But if you completely break down the walls of the valley it's living in, it's no longer stable. Say you import a lot of jihadists in waiting.

So Germany goes Arab. Congratulations, liberals. You'll have to move, of course, on to the next Western nation. You can't have enough Arab nations, one after another.

The Cult of Diversity has yet to absorb Bob Putnam's seminal finding in his study of diversity in communities. Higher ethnic diversity is correlated with low trust. And not just between different ethnic groups but among members of the same ethnic group. Anyone who's read Fukuyama's 1995 book Trust can guess what's in store for these communities.

"The Germans have a misplaced reputation for intelligence. First they get rid of their Jews."

There is a theory, credible to me, that Europe's destruction and expulsion of the Jews is the reason why they have stagnated the past 70 years. Paul Johnson, in "The History of the Jews," postulates that the Jews invented capitalism in the middle ages when they had to invent a mobile system of value that could be moved from place to place when they were not allowed to own property and could be forced to emigrate on short notice.

Now, Europe is replacing the Jews who have been noted for high intelligence and innovation, with a population that memorizes the Quran and has a social structure common in the 7th century. Israel is probably the most inventive and innovative society on Earth.

Hail to the future !

[He] said that he felt sympathy for the refugees, but that he feared the sheer number of people dumped with little warning in places like this could offer “an ideal platform for the far right.”

For the last 40-50 years, all the sane people who pointed out the likeliest consequences of the elites' daft multiculturalist messianism have been shouted down as "right-wing extremists". (Or worse, faced fines, jail terms, had their careers and lives destroyed.) I'd bet you anything that this man, like most people, has spent these last decades nodding along with this persecution and harassment, always publicly assenting to the reigning diversity dogmas, always pursing his lips and virtue-signaling like mad. Even now, when the insanity is coming to his doorstep, he still refuses to acknowledge that, hey, maybe the earlier critics had a point. No, the only real problem is the "right-wing extremists" - not the policy, not the newcomers, not the loons in their government bubbles. As long as we keep the "right-wing extremists" suppressed, everything will be all right.

And that's the awful irony. The very dogmas and policies that have been pursued for purpose of preventing violence and extremism, are the cause of the growing violence and extremism. If you don't like Nazis, fucking with the citizenry until they're ready to explode is not a recommended method for keeping out infestations of Nazism.

And I doubt the NYT writer even noticed the supreme irony of the above speaker's complaint about the Nazi on the district council:

“We have to take a clear stand against these people,” Mr. Hammer said later, noting that his family had lived in Sumte for 400 years. He dismissed Mr. Niemann, who lives in a village a couple of miles down the road, as a disruptive outsider."

Why, Mr. Hammer, shame on you, "Othering" those outsiders. Just because you and yours have been in some place for a while doesn't give you any special rights! Check your privilege, nativist!

If you want to blame Germans who weren't even alive during WWII for Hitler, then STFU and accept it when progs demand you repent forever for slavery and racism.

German children being beaten down for the last half-century with an indoctrination system that tells them that they and their people are uniquely evil is part of the problem. (Sound familiar? Sorry, no, Germans aren't uniquely evil among humans.) Playing on the "guilt" of the long and heavily propagandized German populace is one of the tools used by the loons in charge to push their lunacies.

Yes, but not beaten down exactly. It's more like: "Look at how good we are in recognizing our badness! We are the post-Nazi anti-Nazis!" Hence Merkel's response to Netanyahu: don't you dare doubt our guilt for the Holocaust. Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.

The E.U. absorbed the wrong lessons from history. The E.U. was formed out of the disaster for Europe that was WWII. In that war, it was all about a world struggle between states, with two states, the USA & the USSR, coming out on top to the detriment of Europe.

But, a longer view of European history tells a different story --- of ethnic "assemblages", peoples on the move, who rampage across the landscape looking for land to settle or booty so that they can stay alive. The examples are many: the Norsemen getting settled in what then becomes Normandy in return for peace & fealty to the king of France; the Romans settling the Visigoths who come into the Empire from the East in the far West, i.e. what's now Spain; Attila the Hun, who runs out of cash years after his first set of rampages through Europe & so must go raiding again, caught out & killed by the Romans in France.

The EU must look to history to see what damage non-state actors can do. They also must re-learn the fact that the first duty of a state's standing army is to protect its borders. That's the original reason states have armies in the first place.

I literally laughed out loud about the 250 reduction for the sake of the sewers! It just shows how chaotic this all is - they are desperately searching for places to put them.

But then put yourself into the place of the refugees - this is not where they wanted to end up either. A lot of these rural shelters have people vanishing out of them, probably on their way north to Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

And then, in a place this small, if there is trouble there's no way to handle it. There are distinct groups coming across those borders, and they can't be mixed at a shelter like that.

Lived in Germany a dozen years. I never saw a 'beat down' or heard that the school system was pushing the 'uniquely evil' aspect of it. They did ask that question a lot, but most Germans bzw, all Germans I know have come to the conclusion that they are not. Many came to some quite opposite conclusions actually, such as the US was just as/more evil for:
a.) dropping the bomb
b.) Vietnam
c.) Abu Ghraib
d.) ruining the world's environment
e) any war during a Republican administration

There is still a strong anti-Semitic streak in that country and it's not just Sepp Maier in Unterdindlsheim, it's university students and the 'anti-Zionist' Socialist elite...the 'left wing' Baader-Meinhof Gruppe trained with, not coincidentally, the Palestinians. The Baath Party has Nazi roots. Interesting bedpartners, eh?

Sure the Germans were told about their role in the world. They did what they did. And they did it in WW1 as well. Read about their policy of strong retribution and of the many atrocities in Belgium carried out in the name of Dem Kaiser und Dem Deutschen Heer. In my mind they got off pretty lightly.
The Germans pretend that they are Pacifists. They maintain that the lesson of WW2 is that all wars are bad. What they should have learned is that some wars are necessary.
The Germans have been allowed to live in a utopian Socialist dreamstate courtesy the US Taxpayer. That dream is coming crashing down around their shoulders. Will events show them to be on the wrong side of history again?
At that point can we readdress the 'fatal flaw' issue?

Drill Sgt - I have been reading the local german newspapers online for a while, and in fact the most disturbing thing about the influx to many is the disorder. The system is overwhelmed. People who are volunteer workers at the shelters are reporting that the refugees don't know where they are being sent, that some arrive having not been registered yet, whereas some have been registered already two or three times, etc. And not all of them are well-behaved. There are robberies and other malfeasances happening at the shelters and perhaps in the areas.

But the other looming disaster is that German policy toward refugees is quite generous - indeed, significantly more generous than it has been to the East German population. Many of those people lost their jobs and never got new ones, and are eking out a very precarious existence on very minimal benefits.

This is a recipe for extreme social disorder. The Germans, as a whole, strongly disapprove of hostility toward refugees, but also strongly favor a consensus, ordered settlement of such issues. There isn't going to be one here.

MaxedOutMama said...

Joe - they don't have space. They've got thousands of people living in tents, with winter coming on. They are looking for buildings in which they can be housed all over Germany, and inevitably, many of them will be found in the depopulated areas of East Germany. When the jobs went, the young people all went. They have abandoned commercial and municipal buildings.

But they don't have the infrastructure any more for these people.

Livermoron is not the only person who knows Germans and Germany. He's trite and biased, but he reflects your own (trite) biases, so of course you think he "explains it all".

Many Germans are knee-jerkingly anti-American? Wow, who knew? Doesn't refute my observations. And btw, I'm not some great admirer of ordinary German culture (outside of its high culture that everybody appreciates).

In short, Europeans don't do assimilation well.

Uh, who's saying they do? To whom are you talking here? And why should they, anyway? Hey, cubanbob, as somebody said - Germans are not Americans. Stop looking at them as if they should be Americans.

One hopes. You say that like it's a bad thing.

Like I said before The Muslim Retirement Plan will fail...

Do you bother to read what you're responding to before you start babbling? (Iirc, I think it was you who once jumped all over me about "the pay gap" - lol, as if I ever believed in or argued for that "70 cents to the dollar pay gap" bullshit. Learn how to read, for chrissakes.)

There is a potential for a swing to nationalism and nativism? Thanks for the deep insight into the situation in Europe there, cb. Knock us all over with a feather.

One hopes that Germany and the rest of Europe will free itself of the multi-cult shackles. Whether the civilizational energy is left to do just that - well, pessimism is not unfounded. It's not like they're going to be getting any help from our government, which has been pushing the multi-cult, anti-national bullshit on Europe for a long time now. The failure of Muslim immigration into Europe has been that the children of immigrants have tended to be more radical than their parents, and the children of these children even more radical than that. So long as this dynamic holds, one can't reasonably expect this to end well.

Of course, that's hardly a "failure" from a jihadist/Muslim supremacist PoV, even if it's more accurately described as a "catastrophe" than a mere "failure" from the PoV of anyone who might wish to preserve what's left of European culture.

Viewed from a distance, one might wonder if Europeans have so internalized disgust with European culture that they wish nothing more than that it should cease to exist.
