"Reagan said he was 'paying for this microphone.'"

"Trump says no one should pay for this microphone."

What an asshole. And you folks still like him?

Bullshit.

That is not what campaign finance reform -- the hotly contested cases in federal courts -- have been about.

The Super PACs, Citizens United; they aren't paying for anybody else's microphone but their own. And McCain-Feingold was aimed at shutting them down, for buying their own microphones (metaphorically) and plugging them in.

Trump is a true ignoramus on campaign finance reform. He may be merely dumb about a lot of things. And he may have some clever instincts on others.

But on campaign finance reform Trump is -- and I use this phrase with surgical precision I hope -- a Republican In Name Only.

At least he's not a pathological liar or a rapist.

Reagan wasn't complaining that the equipment wasn't working properly. whereas Trump is.

He most certainly is a pathological liar. How many lies has he been called on now? Where were all those Muslims on rooftops? And his first wife claims he raped her.

This guy does classic stand up comedy. He riffs on anything and everything.

Maybe you're not laughing, but look at the crowd, they love it.

Uh, no. His ex-wife said "“On one occasion during 1989, Mr. Trump and I had marital relations in which he behaved very differently toward me than he had during our marriage. As a woman, I felt violated, as the love and tenderness, which he normally exhibited towards me, was absent. I referred to this as a ‘rape,’ but I do not want my words to be interpreted in a literal or criminal sense.”

Are you a pathological liar?

It's funny to watch the Trump haters jump on something like this.

First we get to laugh with trump. Then we get a second laugh, as the haters try and make hay.

Good times.

And his first wife claims he raped her.

But there's no reason to believe it's true.

I mistook John Althouse Cohen's meaning. I read too much into it. I have just got to admit; I hate Trump so much I overreacted. I read it (wrong, I guess) as Trump saying that 'no one should be paying for any microphones.' I get it; Trump was saying 'Let's not pay for this microphone because it is bad.'

But Trump's joking is a small matter to me. Trump's political instincts on campaign finance reform, if he becomes president, is not a small matter.

No! Impossible! You? Overreact to Trump? Strawmen, non-sequitors and hyperbolic and ridiculous claims about Trump?

I simply don't believe it. You have in no way damaged your "credibility" in your "reasoned" critiques of Trump.

Trump is, at a minimum, about 27 sexual assaults away from securing Amanda's unqualified endorsement.

Amanda: "He most certainly is a pathological liar."

Why don't you just put some ice on that?

Amanda: "Where were all those Muslims on rooftops?"

Uh, on rooftops? (trick question?)

Amanda: "And his first wife claims he raped her."

Would that be the wife who has stated repeatedly that is not true and is publicly endorsing Trump?

Are you going to sit there and claim you didn't already know that?

Are you the guy with whom I have a bet on the fact that Trump will never be the 45th president?

Wow, some people are misreading my post...

Somehow I believe you are not an honest criticizer of trump. I'm not sure why, just a hunch.

Just where were those 1000s? And probably more, celebrating the fall of the towers? Ululating, handing out candy to children, dancing? That’s an easy one. In central new York. Aka Jerusalem. "What does it matter?"

And on TV.

Mr. T. makes a point 90% and even a few reporters believe, before those reporters were buried by their clique with a threat of being excluded from the next party for the Hoi polloi. I get it. So did the people in Florida. Including those breath taking empathic moments where everyone in the crowd thought "here's someone no different than me," in spite of his hard earned Billions starting from scratch after he saved his Father’s company using a classic business school taught use of bankruptcy, at the cost of sacrificing everything he had, and after excluding his brother. A brother who was happy to see the company die and all those jobs lost as long as he got his inheritance. No wonder he committed suicide by drink. He couldn't look himself in the mirror.

Even Reagan didn't get this empathic reaction. Oh my. They know if they ever met on the street pTb would never demand this peasant shine his shoes, not so those of the central committee, who make that demand of me every day. He'd probably shine my shoes or replace them if in tatters. February 1st and 9th are fast approaching. Time has almost run out. And my popcorn is getting better by the day. I need to order a new supply and more coconut oil. Per the FDA I’ll be dead by then, an eater of only animal saturated fats, and have never been healthier. Science plus politics is just deadly politics. PETA and mother earth will cheer my passing.

Aha. Thinking of Florida, Mr. C. and pTb’s observation. Given how the Left went after Bush-1 hammer and tongs in a close election when there was no doubt about the fairness of the recount, why should Mr. C. expect any different? The Left has none of the humility and concern for the country that Bush-1, and earlier Mr. Nixon showed in the Daly election. Shame on them and their children. Ditto the soon to be disestablished GOP elite. So there’s no doubt the Left would sue. And pTb is correct given the left has told us this themselves by their own actions and greed. We'd be fools not to believe these Communists.

… Trump is … a Republican In Name Only.

After he is sworn in he’ll be a RPOTUSINO(Republican President of the United States In Name Only). Looking forward to Trump’s two terms. A RINO as POTUS! It brings a tear of happiness to this old RINO’s eye.

And his first wife claims he raped her.

During their divorce she did. Her lawyers needed leverage against the pre-nup. She retracted later. They’re thicker than thieves these days.

"I have recently read some comments attributed to me from nearly 30 years ago at a time of very high tension during my divorce from Donald," she said in the statement today. "The story is totally without merit. Donald and I are the best of friends and together have raised 3 children that we love and are very proud of."
