A male ballroom dancer looks more polished and smoother if he keeps a perpendicular upper body balanced over his legs while restricting all the dance movements to below the waist.

This is much easier to do if you have a symmetrical body.

From the article...

"The finding lends support to the idea that dancing is a way to show off high quality genes and good health - both indicators of a top quality mate."

This sounds like the scientists are trying to make comparisons between men dancing... and a bird's mating calls and movements. Couldn't it just be that women want to know that a guy knows how to move his hips before she hops in the sack?

Reminds me of that old joke...

Q: Why is sex standing up prohibited for Baptists?

A: It might lead to dancing.

(bonus mp3 for laughing at the joke even if you didn't find it all that funny)

Do you know who has the best ballroom dancing program in the US? Brigham Young University-a Mormon college.

They encourage all their students to learn ballroom dancing plus they bring in top notch dancers for seminars and dance camps.

Their theory is that if students are on the dance floor dancing, they cannot have sex. I am not sure it would lead to sex either as there is a large space between the dancers if they are using proper ballroom dance technique.

"SCIENTISTS have confirmed what fans of John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever have known all along: men with the best dance moves have the most sex appeal."

Another fatuous beginning to another fatuous article about another questionable scientific study.
