1. How to make Althouse left wing. 2. How to make Althouse right wing.

1. Embed her in a right-wing confabulation.

2. Sit her down next to Ed Garvey.

Tom - I think, by definition, it makes her a centrist. ;)

Context is everything

"I annoy everyone. Everyone tells me I am an idiot.

Therefore I conclude that this proves that I am the person with the truth."

This is the logic of Ann, Simon, and way too many journalists.

That is flawed even on its own terms. The left says she's an idiot; the right say that we disagree with her on some issues. See the difference?

From the Logic Bank, reality check is overdrawn.

No idea who Ed Garvey is...

Kept confusing him with "Fred Garvin, Male Prostitute."

Ed Garvey is a somewhat left-wing politician who has run against Gov. Tommy Thompson and against Sen. Bob Kasten, both times unsuccessfully. He is somewhat gadfly-ish, and very entertaining to listen to.

Never before has someone been so proud of being so vacuous.

I just listened to Ann's podcast and Garvey sounded woefully uniformed and generally leftish doctrinaire. He has a genial but condescending manner if that is what you consider entertaining.

Perhaps he was having a bad day as Ann pummeled him pretty good.

Then again, in comparison to Doyle, 'reality check' is the Algonquin Roundtable all by hisself.

Heh. The way I read the post is; it takes one liberal to have the same repelling power of an entire confab of conservatives.

old ann is a right wing and you can't either change her and her censoring ways. you can call her a moderate but its like calling an ox a bull, thankful for the compliment but would much rather have back that which was rightfully his.

(shrug). He tells a good story and I find that entertaining. I think it would be fun to sit in a bar with him with a beer and listen.
