I met a dressed-in-black man who walked a white dog...

A mysterious figure on Country Road NN, who seems truly ethereal in the enlargement.

Ann, I love you to death, but I like it better when you take pictures of your toes.

P.S.: was Ethereal Guy an Obamist? A Man in Black? A Disestablishmentarian? Titus, perhaps?

Dear Lord! Is that man searching for his head?

The dog's opinion is the key.

It's not a dog. It's his head.

A UTO...an unexplained thought object. It's clearly an apparition caused by too many Bob Dylan lyrics entering your brain in to short a time. But how did your camera pick it up too, that is the mystery.

???

Crickets are chirpin', the water is high,
There's a soft cotton dress on the line hangin' dry,
Window wide open, African trees
Bent over backwards from a hurricane breeze.
Not a word of goodbye, note even a note,
She gone with the man
In the long black coat.

Why does Wisconsin letter their rural roads rather than use numbers? Is there any other state that did this?

Thank god. I thought it was just me.

Missouri letters their country roads. It makes an already confusing system of roads much worse. I didn't know Wisconsin does this too.

Is it a state thing or a county thing?

County governments name county roads here in Indiana. Some counties use names, some use numbers, some use both.

For instance, in my county, north-south roads are named, while east-west roads are numbered.

Near New Glarus Woods? That view seems familiar to me.

Luxury Homes

Keep Off the Grass?

Uhhhmmm. Did they think that Luxury Homes could use some sidewalks in front of them so the residents, who are forbidden from walking on the grass, don't have to walk in the road?

WV = phron
What I do when commanded not to walk on the grass by Luxury Homes.

@Gretchen Yes, we walked the trail in New Glarus Woods, and I took this picture at the point where the trail crosses the street.

Some county roads in Minnesota have letter names.

Just a few miles north of me are County B and C and so on. They all run east-west. C is north of B. I don't know what happened to County A.

Maybe it was rural when the roads were named, but it's suburban now.

At some point, the county built an east-west road north of B and south of C. They named it County B2.

(1) Deb, that walking man is a rare talent. Halloween is approaching and we need to recruit him for the Althouse Footlighters’ staging of “Ichabod Crane -- The Musical.” Now, if only we can find ourselves a horse . . .

(2) Looks like some of those luxury trees aren’t feeling so very upscale, after all.

Oh well. At least some of the luxury critters get some luxury housing.
