On Bloggingheads. They're talking about language and evolution.

Devoting 65 minutes of my life to Robert Wright's thoughts on, well, anything?

Not a chance.

I FFed to see if Pinker held the phone like that for the whole hour and some and he did.

So Ann--a fan of Survivor and American Idol--you would have us believe that you sat enthralled while two eggheads discussed for over an hour whether the development of language more closely followed a classic Darwinian evolutionary theory, or that of Gould or Chomsky.

Yeah right!

Awesome. I'm going to check this out.

I can't just sit there and watch them, but I'll get through it while brushing my teeth, taking a bath, etc.

Otherwise, I much prefer reading.

I do watch some trashy TV, maybe 5 hours a week. I really don't have much patience for any kind of video.

I find it slow.

Because there's no way a fan of "Survivor" and "American Idol" could be interested in linguistics?

I find linguistics fascinating.

But I don't watch either TV show.

Can it be a fundamental axiom?

Wow, you're missing out. I have no idea how many hours I've spent on Wright's thoughts, spoken and written. Many. Whether you agree with his views or not, it's worth it.
