I wonder how the media will continue to perpetuate the myth that Hillary Clinton was the bestest Secretary of State in the History of Evar! when ugly truths keep surfacing.

Ugly truths keep surfacing about both Administration of which she was a part, but everybody wishes Willie was back and thinks Choom is just AWESOME.

PS Nice, reminds me of my old home grounds.

Headline in Alternate Universe where Mr. Spock is evil.

"All Passengers and Crew saved when Valiant Crewmembers Vanquish Engine Fire Aboard Ship"

"Although the great vessel had twice the number of passengers of the Titanic, only one Dialysis patient had to be evacuated."

Survivors of Hurricane Katrina marvel at the resilience of the passengers in the face of hot shrimp cocktails and free booze. "Not like the Superdome,"says one. "Those passengers are true survivors."

Here in Transchoptankia yesterday evening, there was a gentle rain with temperatures in the high 40s. I daydreamed about it, hoping that in the morning maybe the rain would have washed away and into the sewers all the corruption and filth in our Nation's capital. Alas, tis not to be.

No more lemons, oranges or tangerines on the backyard citrus grove. The remnants are littering the ground beneath the thorned limbs. Robins were seen in St. Augustine this last weekend. Expecting them any morning now as they move up coast. They are the true harbinger of Spring.

That picture feels like mid-February. Here in the DC area, I saw where daffodils are starting to come up already. I think they're about a month early.

In addition to the term "social justice" that came up in Ann's earlier post, what are some other very frequently used terms that in practice are completely devoid of any sensible meaning?

stratification
privileged
disadvantaged
inequality
equality
disparity
income gap
health gap
education gap
social construct
the poor
the rich
human rights
oppression
power
diversity

Ayn Rand refers to them as anti-concepts.

I went out to see my grandmother at lunch and didn't want to come back. It is so gorgeous outside, sunny 60 degrees. I hope it stays like this for months (or inches up to 70).

In other news, I spent last night learning to play twinkle twinkle little star and michael row the boat ashore on the guitar.

@Althouse: I don't recognize the house with that light and angle--is it a famous one?

My wife's valentines day gift was a plane ticket to Paris. Where she will be baby sitting some cats that belong to a friend of hers.
I don't like to travel and I don't like cats.

So did JOhn Kerry have a facelift? Or is it botox?

His face is definitely different.

Except for the hair and the picture captions these I would have to look and think twice if he ws in a lineup.

Maybe it's the winter light, but that house looks like the kind of place where no one had a happy childhood. The realtor is probably mum about the triple homicide and the stains on basement walls.

Chip, I made that card. It was great. Thanks! (And I never make anything, so it made for a good surprise.)
