Forgive them, Althouse, for they know not what they do.

Maybe he is from the Bahammas...is his name Tommy? I suspect structural racism.

I am a shorts loving fool, but this wasn't a very good Oscars look.

The whole thing is a hideous spectacle of botox_y affluence when many in the country are hurting financially.

Clap along with me if happiness is the truth.

I like the song, and hadn't really heard or noticed it before the Oscars.

Bought it on iTunes today. It will go on my Upbeat Inspirational (non-religious) playlist, which is full of awesomeness and should be prescribed to people suffering from depression.

"Happy" should be on repeat-track at Gitmo as a form of delightful torture.

Esteemed blogress, I think you would like the song because of some throwback notes in its music. It made me think of the song "Cool Jerk" by the Capitols.

The "Happy" video is cute...love all the people and the dancing. Apparently the shorts are his thing.

I saw the Happy performance that was on the Oscars show. Distracted by the Up With People style dancers, but it seemed like a pleasant, innocuous pop song. Forgettable.

Doesn't explain or justify the shorts.

Ann Althouse,

That's all it is, Darlin' - he DOES look stupid.

Still, come on - if you don't smile (HAPPY!) you can't expect me to ever get there, can you?
