"Border Patrol changing diapers, heating baby formula for surge of children."

"[A]gents are being asked to do things way beyond their skill set — particularly for so many of the agents who are young, single men."

Including trying to prevent teenagers from having sex with each other.

Aren't they unionized? This has to violate some work rule.

Let Obama and the amnesty advocates come change their diapers. This is what they wanted.

Load them up on C-5s (you could fit 500 of them per flight), fly them back to their home countries and drop them off. Bus the Mexicans back across the border.

Changing a diaper isn't that difficult a task, really. This, though, is a crisis that is thankfully happening in America and not a country that might be a little more callous in handling a bunch of kids.

Diaper changing is hard the first couple times. Then it's so easy you can do it in your sleep.

These waves of children will continue until central America is a little less cesspool-y. One wonders what the present Administration is doing to facilitate this. It's in the Country's best interest.

Indeed. It seems thw current method of choice to accomplish that goal, based on reports coming out, is the border guards having sex with the teenagers themselves!

Not sure what I'd like to see more-

The Spurs blowing out the Heat in game 5, or..

When Matthew Sablan walks in to work Monday morning, his boss tells him there are 3 kids in the break room that need their diaper changed, saying "don't worry, it's not hard."

Mattew head to the break room thinking to himself 'good thing those kids were dumped here- employees at other companies might be a little more callous..

Oh great. Now it's only a matter of time before one of those agents gets accused of child abuse. Changing the diaper of a strange kid? Yeah, I think this kind of stuff is why you have a union in the first place.

They should all be relocated to the wealthy beltway neighborhoods like Bradley Manor and Chevy Chase... you know... to the people who really care about their welfare.

Matt Sablan said...

I'm not saying I'm glad it is a problem here, but having the problem in America [or anywhere in a first-world country] means the kids are going to be better treated until we solve the problem as to why they keep coming here without their parents.

This is a problem, but it could be a worse problem. I'd imagine no one likes to do it, especially for strange kids with who knows what going on, but as we've seen with the U.N., America's one of the few countries these kids are most likely to be safe in.

The problem on how they're getting here, how the federal government may have facilitated it, etc., etc., is a totally different problem then how to ensure they're cared for before we can figure out whether to send them back or what to do with them.

I've changed diapers before; it's gross and unpleasant, but whatever.

The real scandal of this is that it is becoming more and more likely [and I may have missed a report that changes it from likely to confirmed], that the government is actually guilty of using foreign children as pawns in a domestic policy dispute.

That's a much worse ethical crime, if not an actual crime-crime, than making someone change diapers.

So if the Border Patrol has them in custody, and abandons the kids, isn't that CHILD ENDANGERMENT? or CHILD ABANDONMENT?

Isn't there laws against that?

So why were they not arrested by the local cops when they abandoned all those kids?

Remember eveyone, the President has a pen and a phone--hey, it's just loose talk about how we should make things easier for illegal immigrant kids, what possible harm could it cause?

Incentives matter.

Immigration is not driven by the absolute cesspool-y-ness of central America, but the difference between the cesspool-y-ness of central America and the United States.

President Obama has done nothing to improve central America, but he has worked day and night to reduce the differential

An excellent point. We should make a policy of barring legal entry forever to anyone who brings or sends their kids in this way on the grounds of child abuse. If a white parent abandoned a child like this they would be jailed.

Let me get this straight. We're having a massive influx, not of Central American "children" (assumed to be in early-to-late teens), but of Central American infants? Kids too young to be toilet-trained or off the bottle?

Frankly, we ought to be pressuring Mexico heavily on this. They police their own southern border at least as heavily as we do ours. (It's a lot shorter, for one thing.) I doubt very much that an influx of thousands or tens of thousands of toddlers crossing Mexico south to north has gone utterly unnoticed.

If you don't have a border, you don't have a country.

We are toast. Not so much because Obama has encouraged/supported the juvenile version of the Mariel Boatlift, but because there are no confrontational street protests by the US citizenry. They/we have either given up or don't care.

In law, isn't there such a thing as an attractive hazard?.... If you build a pool in you back yard, aren't you responsible to build a fence to make sure some neighborhood kid doesn't drown in it........These parents sound like terrible people. Are they the ones we want to emigrate to this country?.......I understand that there are mothers in Mumbai who maim their children in order to make them more effective beggars. Perhaps Obama should start a program to give these disabled children and their mothers special accelerated entry permits. Who could possibly be against helping disabled children? There couldn't possibly be any unintended side effects like more maimed children.

They all have Spanish surnames (or Indian transliterated in Spanish) and most speak Spanish, so they are "Hispanic" and and by the laws of history must begin voting Democrat when they get to 18 years of age, so it is all good.

The entire point of obama and his minions encouraging the illegal entry of minors (and those claiming to be minors 'cuz how are you gonna prove they're not?) is to "reunite" those minors with their extended families in the US.

Thereby ensuring millions more 3rd world mentality uneducated immigrants who will become permanent voters for the party of "free s***".

And they are doing it openly.

At the same time they are "losing" all of those Lois Lerner emails.

What a coincidence.

East Anglia CRU "lost" all of it's raw data which they claimed proved AGW right after they lost a lawsuit forcing them to cough up the data.

I'm sure there are no such things as back up systems or archives in lefty controlled environments.

How can people be for this blatant lawlessness? There's not even a pretense of obeying laws, and Obama himself is fomenting this crisis.

I thought the whole discussion of amnesty was about people already here. We haven't done that amnesty but apparently we need to now deal with a new influx of illegals.
If we are going to house all of South America why don't we simply annex all territory all the way to Central America and make that the 51st state. Then they don't have to travel here and violate our laws.
Of course it will mean we take over Mexico and start putting up walmarts and moving the gringos into the neighborhoods. I'm sure they'd be ok with that.

Ship the kids to Chevy Chase...

Maybe the state of Arizona should just put up a bunch of tourist posters for Washington, New York and Boston and offer free Amtrak tickets to the first 10,000 takers, no questions asked.

The failure lies with Central and South American, African, Asian, etc. nations where conditions motivate mass emigration. The leaders of those nations need to take responsibility for their men, women, and children. A general amnesty would only protect the corruption.

It's telling that the asylum seekers will not expose the causes which motivated their migration, and that their advocates have similar cause to deceive and exploit Americans.

For some, it's merely self-interest - votes, cheap labor, "jobs for the boys" in the various public/private refugee rackets and ethnic-interest lobbies. Others, well-intentioned but thoughtless bleeding hearts, serve as useful idiots for that first lot.

They all share the delusion that the rule-of-law culture that makes for an immigrant-attractive country in the first place will not be affected by their shenanigans, and that the law-abiding majority will go right on respecting the law themselves, and, of course, docilely subsidizing the lawbreakers.

Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California should form there own boarder security co-op. pool resources and personnel and secure our southern boarder. Let the federal ire fall where it may and just ignore Washington.
