"Debbie wears so many hats, so well."

Said Hillary, quoted in "Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s awkward day with party leaders."

Was that mean?

A hat with a dark full face veil would be nice on Debbie--preferably one that featured a gag.

In the absence of media scrutiny people like Debbie become emboldened and believe they can utter whatever verbal trash comes to mind without fear of consequences. Her comments about Scott Walker come to mind. It is a rude awakening when the media actually reports critically on your comments.

Debbie was selected DNC chair for 4 reasons: (1) The war on women. (2) A nod to the Jewish vote. (3) She's a verbal pitbull whose first instinct is to lie and attack. (4) Her impeccably coiffed hair.

I'd say that they are two of the most hatted women in America.

Hmmm, I wonder if the Hildabeast is wearing blue in hopes of being the target of Bill's affection...

Here is Calvin Coolidge's wife Grace rocking an inaugural top hat upon which crawls a giant spiny sea urchin. Or a hairy lobster.

The daughter of a steamboat inspector, Grace was working as a lip-reading instructor when while playing peeping tomasina she saw her future hubbie through a boarding house window shaving whilst wearing only a nightshirt. Her mother Lemira disapproved of Calvin.

The immense shape-shifting hairy chapeau beast, perhaps of alien origin, also nested in the jungle explorer's hat worn by Florence Harding at her hubbie's inauguration.

Today Florence is remembered for setting the fashion world aflame with her silk chokers and for not murdering her husband.

I waiting for the Democratic "cloth coat" speech.

It's a backhanded compliment. What she was REALLY saying was that DWS was maybe smart enuff to be a hat mannequin...maybe.

I don't know what it means in Madison, but in and around Washington it means that the individual has numerous different responsibilities and has to multitask pretty much continuously. The "so well" at the end is meant to suggest that she handles all of her responsibilities very effectively.

You folks in the "Heartland" need to visit the real America of modern liberalism. It starts in Arlington and Fairfax counties in Northern Virginia and runs through Washington, DC, up through Montgomery, Prince George, and Howard counties to Baltimore and from there through northern Delaware, Philadelphia, and New Jersey to New York, to Boston, and up through Vermont to the Canadian border. Over on the left coast it runs from Seattle down to Los Angeles tucked between the mountains and the sea.

The rest of the US map doesn't count.

White people. It isn't the hats they wear, it's the masks: the masks of colorblindness they present to people that hides their ugly true selves: don't think it isn't noticed.

And if we are going to talk about 'hats' just when will they wear the hat in which they help black people? White people can NEVER seem to find THAT hat...

It is turtles all the way down...

She needs a rest. She has worked so hard for so long that the vein of gold (i.e., the Jewish donors) she calls on is tired of her. The Dems need a new Jew to be fundraiser to the Hebrews.

That signals the Clintons want to position themselves as pro Israel's survival, and Wasserman-Schultz is totally identified with Obama pro-Iranian team of liars

@Curious George I see what you did there.

More incompetent white people praising each other on how they pretend they can do so many (white) things so well: one big white circle-jerk is what it is.

Whites do only one thing -- and only one thing -- well: oppression. Of course, they have had four hundred years to practice...

It is turtles all the way down...

The phrase "killing with faint praise" comes to mind.

Isn't that the Nancy Reagan look? Is this copyright infringement?

Slaveholders often wore hats when beating their black slaves. When will Whites ever accept their guilt, and stop wearing hats.

The comments sounded like eulogies.

Grace Coolidge was a very attractive and accomplished woman. As a couple, they were as normal a pair as we have ever had in the White House. Women's hats of that era were odd. Notice that hat was before the cloche era.

I believe Secretary Clinton was referring to Ms. Wasserman Schultz's brown helmet.

What does it mean? It's called "damning with faint praise".

You know that her days among the Dems are numbered when Jameis Winston gets punished for yelling out about Debbie in public.

DWS is an attractive woman, but she is cursed with Medusa locks. Her hair genuinely detracts from her appearance. There must be some kind of hairdo or hair product to minimize the effects of Medusa hair. The fact that she hasn't found such a style or product leads me to question her judgement and pragmatism. Her hair should be as much a red flag as Christie's weight........Has anyone been watching The Roosevelts, the PBS show. According to that show, Eleanor was the noblest Roosevelt of them all. I suspect that the whole documentary is some kind of subliminal ad for Hillary.

Is that code for strap ons?

Debbie wears so many hats, so well. What style of hats does Debbie wear so well?

It may be mean. It may be a compliment. It may be projection. It may be envy. It may depend on the definition of "hats".

David said...

Hillary looks overwhelmed by fashion in that picture.

There are strains of that in her intellectually as well.

That said, she is more willing than some to buck some tides. Too bad she is so dishonest.

David said...

"According to that show, Eleanor was the noblest Roosevelt of them all."

She could afford to be. When all was said and done, she was not the person accountable.

traditionalguy said...

The Delano branch of Roosevelts were strong people. Eleanor was the lovable one, and Franklin was the brilliant manipulator. Both of them were overcomers with a capital O.

PB said...

Yeah, but which one of them (Debbie or Hillary) wears a beard?

rcocean said...

"According to that show, Eleanor was the noblest Roosevelt of them all."

Of course, because she was the most liberal. And a woman.

rcocean said...

Eleanor had her own flaws that are always white washed.

Really interesting that both Biden and Obama praised her solely for her hard work. Thats apparently the administration line re DWS. Neither suggested she was effective or competent or even well-liked. It's interesting that they are not doing anything to counter the impression created by Politico. They've pretty much confirmed the story. I'm no DWS fan, but if the Politico story is true, Obama was quite a jerk to her. He really is not likeable enough, is he?

There must be some kind of hairdo or hair product to minimize the effects of Medusa hair. The fact that she hasn't found such a style or product leads me to question her judgement and pragmatism.

The strange thing is that a Google image search confirms that she has found not one but two hairstyles in the past that show her hair to advantage. One shorter, framing her face, and the other long but with her hair cut so that there is volume on top and her hair falls nicely around her face instead of puffing out, Rosanne Rosannadanna-style.

And yet she doesn't wear either of those hairstyles now. It's a puzzlement. As is the choice of a foundation three shades too dark, and the smeared black eyeliner on the lower lids, and the choice of brassy yellow hair color instead of the honey blonde that works so much better for her.

This probably sounds bitchy... but it genuinely does confuse me. A lot of women don't look their best because they chop off their hair in a utilitarian bob, or don't wear makeup, or let their hair go mousey gray, and this is often because they don't want to bother with this stuff, which makes sense... but DWS seems to go to a lot of trouble to make herself look worse

One of the things I've always wondered about HILARY! is... is there no one in her entourage (Huma?) who can tell her- "Hill- not a flattering look for you" Most people with any fashion sense work to minimize their flaws- HILARY! doesn't seem to be able to do that. I'm sure that disguising the negatives is easier for us boys to do.And in the words of the great Howie Carr- Grace Coolidge was NOT GUILTY!

In the alternate reality universe DWS functions in, everyone has curly hair.
