Now that The Beatles are streaming on Spotify, what are the top-10 most-streamed songs.

The streaming began on Christmas eve, and here's the top 10:
(1) "Come Together"; (2) "Hey Jude"; (3) "Here Comes the Sun"; (4) "Let It Be"; (5) "Twist and Shout"; (6) "Blackbird"; (7) "I Want to Hold Your Hand"; (8) "In My Life"; (9) "She Loves You"; (10) "Help!"

It would be interesting to see a running top-10 consisting solely of people who self-identify as never having been into The Beatles. How would that list evolve? As people listen to more of their music, will their tastes in Beatles songs change? Personally, I find their later music to be much more interesting.

Spotify is the only streaming that I pay for -- and the addition of The Beatles catalog is fab. Come Together is a surprise at the number one spot. No top-ten love for We Can Work It Out?

That's an interesting list, and definitely would not be my list, especially numbers 1 and 2. I'd have to look at a list of Beatle songs to figure that out, but very surprising not to see: Something, Yesterday, Sgt Peppers, While my Guitar Gently Weeps and a couple of others.

I wonder about the demographics of the streamers. "Come Together" seems like an odd #1, but I suspect it might be more popular with 20/30-somethings than it is with their elders. I suspect it will decline in relative popularity fairly quickly.

It's early results. Spotify has pre-baked a number of Beatles playists and placed them above the fold when you log in. The first track on the first Beatles playlist is "Come Together." Draw your own conclusions. (But if the Aerosmith cover of "Come Together" gets to #1, then we'll know we have a problem.)

The Beatles rock according to the fifty eight thousand elevators in New York City.

"Come Together" is the best Beatle song and one of the best rock songs of all time.

Sad.

Yokookoo refills her bank account, and she can bitch again about the author writing crap songs that rhyme June with spoon.

Thanks, Adrian. It's a great rocking tune, but there had to be some explanation for its top billing -- appreciate the background.

It's a strong list. I'm very surprised "All You Need Is Love" is not on the list though.

"I'm sick of it! Jason is constantly working Beatles song titles into every conversation! I've had it!"
Counselor: "Is this true, Jason?"
Me: "Yes it is."

If you can't dance to it, is it really a rock song?

I hold with "Please Please Me" as the best, and maybe the most interesting musically.

Haha. I streamed 'Come Together' - and that was it. The only one I never tire of.

Quality never goes out of style! However, I wouldn't put "Come Together" anywhere near the top ten Beatles songs. "In My Life" should be at the top of the list, IMHO.

No Lady Madonna? No Taxman!

1 - Taxman
2 - Paperback Writer
3 - While My Guitar ...
4 - Doctor Robert

Interesting that there are so many well-known Beatles songs. Does any other band/performer come close?

I wanted to listen to "The Beatles' Second Album." I remember us kids piling into the family car one evening after dinner and trundling down to the Sears in Camden (my big brother drove) to purchase that disc. A big deal at the time. Hadda settle for Spotify-ing "Beatles For Sale."

Up until now, it was possible to listen to entire Beatles albums-- via quasi-legal means on Youtube.
